Easy Fruit-Filled Braid

One Recipe Basic Roll Dough

1/4 Cup Sugar
1/4 to 1/2 Cup Chopped Nuts
3/4 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Tablespoon Margarine (softened)
1/3 Cup Apricot Preserves OR Peach Preserves OR Apple Pie Filling


Grease 2 cookie sheets. In small bowl, combine sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Set Aside. After allowing dough to rest, prepare as follows. Divide dough in half. On lightly floured surface, roll each half into a 12x6 inch rectangle. Place on cookie sheet. Spread half margarine,half filling and half cinnamon-sugar mixture lengthwise down center third of rectangle. Cut 1-inch wide strips along both sides of filling. Fold strips at an angle across filling, alternating from side to side as illustrated. Repeat with second half.

Cover; let rise in warm place until doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until deep golden brown. Remove from baking sheet immediately; cool. In small bowl, blendGlaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over braids.
